Last week, the Torres del Paine National Park celebrated its 56th anniversary since its creation in 1959. Located in Magallanes y la Antártica Chilena region, Última Esperanza province, it is one of the five national parks of the region. This area also has natural reserves, like Alacalufes reserve, and national monuments like Cueva del Milodón.
The park is a place rich in history, ecosystems, flora and fauna. It is a habitat with species of mammals such as the protected huemul, the puma, or the zorro colorado, and birds such as the owl or the rhea. Also, plant species like the Patagonian steppe or the Andean desert can be found in the park. In addition, it is a great touristic site that attracts people from all over the world to visit it, specially due to the Torres del Paine, a must-see landscape for all tourists who come to the place.
