Llanquihue Lake will host the longest cycle path of Chile

With a total extension of 81 kms, the bike lane under construction will surround the coast of the second largest lake in our country.

This construction belongs to a project that is part of the Llanquihue lake circuit, a road network that connects the localities of Puerto Varas, Frutillar and Puerto Octay, providing easy access to the touristic places of this part of Chile’s south, such as the Vicente Pérez Rosales National Park and the Todos Los Santos Lake.

Starting at Puerto Varas, the new route will continue eastward on a 42 kms stretch up to Ensenada. Then, the bikeway continues about 10 kms down the road leading directly to the Vicente Pérez Rosales National Park and the Todos Los Santos Lake, following the path to Las Cascadas. So far, this big bike lane is 71 kms long, missing only the construction of a bridge in the area of Los Riescos where the cycle path will cross.

The purpose of this project promoted by the Ministry of Public Works is to highlight the landscape that surrounds the Llanquihue Lake, building new public spaces, promoting heritage and urban development, and generating a network of coastal infrastructure between the towns of Los Lagos Region.
